Peter Albinus (Petrus Weiss)(1534-1598) was a German historian who linked the Americas with Plato’s Atlantis^(a). Although this idea was based on pure speculation, it was a common viewpoint at that time which had been gathering support ever since that continent was discovered by Columbus.
