In 1952 he expressed his views<sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/n-r\/\">222<\/a>]<\/sup> on Atlantis, which were somewhat ambiguous and that its reality was still an open question. He believed that Atlantis was a combination of different traditions. He felt that the war with Atlantis may have included an echo of the invasion of the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/sea-peoples\/\">Sea Peoples<\/a> and that the design of Plato\u2019s city was based on Plato\u2019s knowledge of <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/carthage\/\">Carthage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/franke-thorwald-c\/\">Thorwald C. Franke<\/a> considers the views of Pallottino to be an elaboration of those of <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/brandenstein-wilhelm\/\">Wilhelm Brandenstein<\/a><sup>(a)<\/sup>.
