{"id":136,"date":"2009-11-18T16:38:37","date_gmt":"2009-11-18T16:38:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/?p=136"},"modified":"2025-10-30T08:57:33","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T08:57:33","slug":"a-f-r-knotel-new","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/a-f-r-knotel-new\/","title":{"rendered":"Kn\u00f6tel,  August F.R."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>August F.R.<\/strong><strong> Kn\u00f6tel, <\/strong>a German geographer, was the author of a work in 1893 that placed Atlantis in <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/morocco-revised\/\">Morocco<\/a> and linked its priesthood with the religion of Thoth-Ouranos-Hermes. <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/spanuth-dr-jurgen\/\">J\u00fcrgen Spanuth <\/a>wrote that Kn\u00f6tel considered Plato\u2019s dating involving thousands of years as \u2018complete nonsense\u2019 <sup>[<\/sup><strong><a href=\"#A017\"><sup>017<\/sup><\/a><\/strong><sup>.26]<\/sup>.\u00a0A facsimile of the German text<sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/k-l\/\">0628<\/a><\/sup><sup>]<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">+<\/span><\/strong><\/sup><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><sup>\u00a0<\/sup><\/span><\/strong> can now be downloaded from the Internet.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the book\u00a0<sup>[<\/sup><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/k-l\/\">0628<\/a>]<strong>+<\/strong> <\/sup> is printed\u00a0with a gothic typeface that some, if not most,\u00a0will find difficult to read.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/bessmertny-alexandre\/\">Alexandre Bessmertny<\/a> published a short review of Kn\u00f6tel&#8217;s work in 1893; now available on the atlantisforschung.de website, in German<sup>(a) <\/sup>.
