He believed that Atlantis had flourished at the end of the last <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/ice-ages\/\">Ice Age<\/a>. Bryusov speculated that Plato\u2019s <em>orichalcum <\/em>was in fact aluminium-bronze, an unlikely possibility considering the high temperatures needed to produce such an alloy. He also expressed a very sceptical view of the occult theories relating to Atlantis.<\/p>\n<p>Bryusov was of the opinion that \u201cUnderlying all ancient cultures there must be a single influence\u201d, which he believed to be Atlantis.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/zhirov-nicolai-feodosyevich\/\">Nikolai Zhirov<\/a> relates<sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/w-z\/\">0458<\/a>.9]<\/sup>\u00a0 how on the recommendation of Maxim Gorky, the political activist, Bryusov wrote a review of the historical and ethnical aspects of the Atlantis problem.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Valery Bryusov (1873-1924) was a Russian poet, dramatist and historian.
