The content of Arundell&#8217;s volume is now as dated as Donnelly&#8217;s offering and and it is also freely available on the Internet<sup>(a)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;secret&#8217; referred to in the title is revealed by Arundell to be that Plato&#8217;s Atlantis story is based on the account that we have of the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/hanno-the-voyage-of-n\/\">Voyage of Hanno<\/a>. He devote the second\u00a0chapter to a discussion of a number of details in both accounts that suggest more than coincidence. I am not aware of any subsequent support for this novel idea.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas Arundell (1586-1643), 2nd Baron Arundell of Wardour,<b> <\/b>was apparently responsible for bringing the first\u00a0two pieces of the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/parian-marble\/\">Parian Marble <\/a>to Britain from Paros in 1627 and presented\u00a0one of\u00a0them to the University of Oxford forty years later.
