In his <em>De Pallio <\/em>(II.3) he refers to the destruction of Atlantis as an example of the global effect of <a href=\"#Noah\">Noah<\/a>\u2019s Flood. In both <em>De Pallio <\/em>and <em>Apologeticus 40.4 <\/em>he refers to the island of Atlantis being submerged in the Atlantic.<\/p>\n<p>However, I find it difficult to invoke Tertullian in support of scientific Atlantology as he was content to believe in god, on the grounds the concept was an absurdity \u2013 <em>\u201c<\/em><em>credo quia absurdum est\u201d! <\/em>I believe it because it is unreasonable&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>I prefer the radical idea that faith should be supported by evidence <strong><em>and<\/em> <\/strong>reason.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">*<\/span>All of Tertullian&#8217;s can be read online<sup>[<\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/t-v\/\"><sup>1655<\/sup><\/a><sup>]<\/sup>.<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">*<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tertullian (160-220 AD) was one of the early Church Fathers from Carthage in North Africa.
