He held a number of <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/le-poer-trench.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-28042\" src=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/le-poer-trench.gif\" alt=\"le poer trench\" width=\"251\" height=\"222\" \/><\/a>extreme opinions regarding extraterrestrial visitors, UFOs and the Hollow Earth Theory and wrote a number of books in support of them.<\/p>\n<p>With regard to Atlantis he placed it in the Atlantic with the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/azores\/\">Azores<\/a> as its remnants<sup>[<\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/k-l\/\"><sup>0769<\/sup><\/a><sup>]<\/sup>\u00a0and claims that those who survived its destruction became what we know as <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/basques\/\">Basques<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/berbers\/\">Berbers <\/a>and the Celts of Britain and Ireland. He goes further and links Atlantis with Egypt, together with its <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/sphinx\/\">Sphinx<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/pyramids\/\">pyramids<\/a>. Not content with that, he also ventures to associate the Glastonbury Zodiac with Atlantis, calling it the Temple of the Stars, the title of one of his books<sup>[<\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/k-l\/\"><sup>0770<\/sup><\/a><sup>]<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>While his location theory was fairly standard fare, he obviously forgot what he had written,<br \/>\nwhen eight years later he produced <em>Finding Lost Atlantis Inside the Hollow Earth<\/em><sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/k-l\/\">778<\/a>]<\/sup>!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brinsley Le Poer Trench (1911-1995) was a member of both British and Dutch nobility with the titles of 8th Earl of Clancarty and 7th Marquess of Heusden and had a seat in the British House of Lords.
