{"id":15447,"date":"2011-10-13T07:49:15","date_gmt":"2011-10-13T06:49:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/?p=15447"},"modified":"2026-01-15T11:13:18","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T11:13:18","slug":"churchward-jack-e-n","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/churchward-jack-e-n\/","title":{"rendered":"Churchward, Jack E."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Jack E.<\/strong><strong> Churchward <\/strong>is the great-grandson of <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/churchward-%e2%80%98colonel%e2%80%99-james\/\">James Churchward<\/a>, the creator <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/jack-e.-churchward_pict.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-27725\" src=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/jack-e.-churchward_pict.jpg\" alt=\"jack e. churchward_pict\" width=\"200\" height=\"217\" \/><\/a>of <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/mu\/\">Mu<\/a>. In 2011, Jack republished what he describes as the definitive edition<sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/c\/\">773<\/a>]<\/sup>\u00a0of\u00a0 James\u2019 1926 <em>The Lost Continent of Mu, <\/em>which includes a new index and additional appendices. It is still just the concoction of a fertile mind. My scepticism and that of many others is reflected in a recent blog from <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/drinnon-dale\/\">Dale Drinnon<\/a><sup>(a)<\/sup>.<\/p>\r\n<p>For the record, Jack is quite sceptical of his great-grandfather&#8217;s theories and has republished some of the earlier material in order <em>&#8220;for the reader to evaluate the basis of his argument,&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\r\n<p>Jack has also a promotional website<sup>(b)<\/sup>, where he candidly wrote<sup>(c)<\/sup> that <em>&#8220;t<\/em><em>he Troano Manuscript, as a reference for the sinking of Mu, must be removed from the list, if there is to be any legitimacy accorded to an evaluation of Churchward\u2019s theories on Mu.&#8221;<\/em> Jack was highlighting the unreliability of James&#8217; translation of the <em>Troano Manuscript, <\/em>influenced as it was by the earlier seriously flawed attempts by Bishop Diego De Landa (1524-1579), <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/brasseur-de-bourbourg-charles-etienne\/\">Brasseur de Bourbourg<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/le-plongeon-augustus\/\">LePlongeon<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/colavito-jason-n\/\">Jason Colavito <\/a>has added further comments<sup>(d) <\/sup>regarding Jack&#8217;s blog.<\/p>\r\n<p>Jack continued to explore his great-grandfather&#8217;s misguided ideas with the publication of <em>The Stone Tablets of Mu <\/em><sup>[<\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/c\/\"><sup>1577<\/sup><\/a><sup>]<\/sup> in August 2018.<\/p>\r\n<p>In 2019, Jack published <em>Crossing the Sands of Time: An Examination of the History and Legends of the Great Uighur Empire <\/em><sup>[<\/sup><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/c\/\">1778<\/a>]<\/sup>. \u00a0We are told that <em>&#8220;This book was motivated by the author&#8217;s interaction with Uyghur scholars and the marked difference between the real history and that espoused by his great-grandfather, James Churchward. During the research, other theories surfaced and were addressed as well.
