Investigators seeking Atlantis in Spain have generally concentrated on the region of Andalusia. However, Ribero-Meneses has directed his attention further north and identified<sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/n-r\/\">528<\/a>]<\/sup> northern Spain, and in particular Cantabria, as the location of Plato\u2019s Atlantis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He has opted for an underwater mountain in the Cantabrian Sea off the coast of Asturias, known officially as Le Donois Bank and \u2018El Cachucho\u2019 to local fishermen, and which is now a protected submarine park. It has been suggested by Ribero-Meneses that Atlantis was once above sea level before being submerged by tectonic movement at the end of the last Ice Age. However, the results of recent geological studies run counter to this theory.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>His work is presented on his website which is modestly entitled <em>Iberia cuna de la humanidad\u00a0<\/em> <em>(<\/em><em>Iberia the Cradle of Humanity)<\/em><sup>(a)<\/sup>.
