However, the Qur\u2019an was not intended as a history book<sup>(a)<\/sup>. Nevertheless, several renowned medieval Arabic writers such as <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/al-biruni-new\/\">Al-Biruni<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/al-idrisi-new\/\">Al-<\/a>Idrisi and <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/al-masudi-new\/\">Al-Mas\u2019udi <\/a>have been referred to as offering indirect but relevant evidence for the submergence of Atlantis in the Mediterranean following the breaching of a dam at <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/gibraltar-landbridge-or-dam\/\">Gibraltar<\/a>. A more contemporary Iraqi scholar, <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/arabic-references\/\">Salah Salim Ali<\/a>, in a twenty-page essay entitled <em>Arabic<\/em> <em>References to Plato\u2019s Lost Atlantis<\/em><sup>[<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/a\/\">077<\/a><\/span>]<\/sup>, discusses a possible link between Atlantis and \u201cthe <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/city-of-brass\/\">City of Brass<\/a>\u201d referred to by medieval Arabic writers.<\/p>\r\n<p>In 2014 an Indonesian website offered a more recent view of the Qur\u2019an and Atlantis<sup><span style=\"font-size: small;\">(b)<\/span><\/sup>.<\/p>\r\n<p>Adlantis was imagined by <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/donnelly-ignatius-loyola\/\">Ignatius Donnelly<\/a> to be another form of Atlantis. He noted that the first inhabitants of Arabia were known as <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/adlantis\/\">Adites.<\/a> They were named after Ad who was fourth in line from Noah.
