Mrs Whishaw devoted a considerable <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Elena_Maria_Whishaw_II.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-40587\" src=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Elena_Maria_Whishaw_II-189x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"189\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Elena_Maria_Whishaw_II-189x300.jpg 189w, https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Elena_Maria_Whishaw_II.jpg 288w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 189px) 100vw, 189px\" \/><\/a>part of her life to the search for evidence of Atlantis in <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/andalusia\/\">Andalusia<\/a> and in particular around the town of Niebla and the city of Seville. However, she was convinced that the region had been colonised by Atlanteans from <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/libya\/\">Libya<\/a>. She published her discoveries in a 1928 book<sup>[<\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/w-z\/\"><sup>053<\/sup><\/a><sup>]<\/sup> that has now been reprinted after many years. The region attracted Atlantis seekers following the views of <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/amador-de-los-rios-juan-fernandez\/\">Juan Fernandez Amador de los Rios<\/a> published in 1919. <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/adolph-schulten\/\">Adolf Schulten<\/a> the German archaeologist also spent a considerable time searching in the area during the first half of the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from her interest in history and archaeology, Whishaw also studied local folk arts, in particular embroidery.
