He is a Director at the Edgar Cayce organization, the Association for <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/JohnVanAuken.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-19307\" style=\"border: 4px solid black;\" title=\"JohnVanAuken\" src=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/JohnVanAuken.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"190\" height=\"213\" \/><\/a>Research and Enlightenment (<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/a-r-e-association-for-research-enlightenment-inc\/\">A.R.E<\/a>) having been associated with the A.R.E. since the late 1960s. He is the author of many books dealing with mysticism and ancient mysteries. He co-authored with <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/little-dr-gregory-and-dr-lora\/\">Greg and Lora Little<\/a>, <em>Edgar Cayce\u2019s Atlantis <\/em>and <em>Ancient South America<\/em><sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/a-z-listing\/#char_4c\">0889<\/a>]<\/sup><em>.<\/em> The latter mentions Plato just once, while\u00a0an article on\u00a0Van Auken&#8217;s\u00a0own website<sup>(a) <\/sup>entitled <em>Atlantis &amp; Mu (Lemuria) <\/em>has Plato completely ignored, which in my opinion leaves him unfit to discuss Atlantis.\u00a0The article has been removed since<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Even more disturbing is his association with the rather dubious \u2018diploma mill\u2019, The International Metaphysical University<sup>(b)<\/sup>, considered by some<sup>(c)(d)<\/sup> to be fraudulent.<\/p>\n<p>Some years ago Van Auken was challenged by <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/hutton-william\/\">William Hutton<\/a> to\u00a0give the references of the six Cayce &#8216;readings&#8217; that he had referred to in a lecture.
