Francis<\/strong> G<\/strong>alea <\/strong>(1953- )<\/strong> is another Maltese author\u00a0who has written[<\/sup>308<\/sup><\/a>]<\/sup> about his island and its possible connection with Atlantis. His offering came some years after Anton Mifsud<\/a> published his M<\/em>alta\u2013<\/em>E<\/em>choes of <\/em>P<\/em>lato\u2019s <\/em>I<\/em>sland<\/em>. Galea\u2019s book is unfortunately available in Maltese only.<\/p>\n

In it he investigates various theories, in particular the suggestion in the 19th<\/sup> century by Grongnet de Vasse<\/a> that Malta<\/a> was a remnant of Atlantis. It was Grongnet deVasse who was the architect of the famous church Dome in Galea\u2019s hometown of Mosta.<\/p>\n

Galea supports the literal acceptance of Plato\u2019s 9,000 years before Solon as the date for Atlantis\u2019 demise. In April 2008, Galea disclosed that his book was being translated into English. The new book will in fact be a re-write of the original, as well as containing new material. Galea has a personal website(<\/sup>a<\/sup>)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

Galea is also a novelist, poet and historical researcher and has been the literary editor on the Maltese Sunday newspaper it-<\/strong>Torca<\/strong> <\/em>since 1987.<\/p>\n
