He was a chemist by profession and is credited with the coining of the term \u2018aromatherapy\u2019,<\/p>\n<p>in 1937. He had an interest in a number of esoteric subjects and was probably one of the first to suggest that a very ancient civilisation had existed on <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/antarctica\/\">Antarctica<\/a> that subsequently spread to Atlantis, which he identified as a large island in the Atlantic.
