In his book <i>Het Horus Enigma (The Horus Enigma) <\/i>he argues for a greater appreciation of the astronomical knowledge of the ancient Egyptians. His\u00a0recent book, <i>Van Egypte naar Atlantis (From Egypt to Atlantis)<\/i><sup><span style=\"font-size: small;\">(b)<\/span><\/sup><i>, <\/i>also in Dutch, claims an Atlantean origin for the early Egyptian civilisation, with Atlantis having existed in the Atlantic (30\u00b030\u2019N.35\u00b07\u201930\u201dW) before its submergence. This belief is based on his reading of various Egyptian texts such as the \u201cPyramid Texts, Sarcophagus Texts, Underworld Books and in the Book of the Dead\u201d.
