In 1901 he wrote his undergraduate thesis on the subject of Atlantis, which he published<sup>[<\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/a\/\"><sup>1474<\/sup><\/a><sup>]<\/sup> in 1931 as\u00a0<i>O Esp\u00edrito da Ra\u00e7a Portuguesa na sua Expans\u00e3o Al\u00e9m-Mar<\/i><sup>(a)<\/sup>, where he identified the Atlantic archipelagos of the Azores, Madeiras and Canaries as the remnants of Atlantis.
