The certificate of appointment <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Maximillian.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-21905\" style=\"border: 4px solid black;\" src=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Maximillian.jpg\" alt=\"Maximillian\" width=\"220\" height=\"269\" \/><\/a>nominated the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/azores\/\">Azores<\/a> as the remnants of Atlantis. This could have been considered a provocative act by the Portuguese, who controlled the Azores, as their principal rivals, the Spanish, had allied themselves through marriage with Maximillian the previous year.
