\"Harry_Dale_Huffman\"<\/a>Harry Dale<\/strong> H<\/strong>uffman <\/strong>is an independent American researcher with an interest in ancient mysteries. He has written a book, T<\/em>he <\/em>E<\/em>nd of the <\/em>M<\/em>ystery<\/em>[<\/sup>153<\/sup><\/a>]<\/sup>, <\/em>in which he offers his views on a wide range of subjects including the Holy Grail, the Sphinx<\/a> and Atlantis. He controversially claims that Atlantis was located on a landmass which included parts of Greenland<\/a>, Iceland and the British Isles, before being moved by some form of tectonic movement, that brought it from the Indian Ocean to its present position over a vast time span(<\/sup>a<\/sup>)(<\/sup>b<\/sup>)<\/sup>. He tenaciously clings to the idea that the speculative map of Atlantis, published by Athanasius Kircher<\/a>, is a true representation of the outline of Plato\u2019s island. <\/b>He also explains that although Greenland does not match the shape of Kircher’s island, it is because part of it broke off and became Iceland.<\/span> <\/strong><\/span>I cannot see how Huffman<\/a>\u2019s claims can stand up to even the most cursory investigation.<\/p>\n

Kircher’s map clearly places Atlantis between the Strait of Gibraltar and America, not between Canada and Scandinavia. Apart from this, Kircher favoured the Azores<\/a> and Canaries<\/a> as the remnants of Atlantis.<\/p>\n

Huffman’s radical thinking also extends to the ‘hot’ subject of global warming, regarding which, he disputes the extent of the effect that CO2<\/sub> has on the global climate(c)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n
