In his three-volume<sup>(b)(c)(d) <\/sup> <i>The Origin of Pagan Idolatry<\/i><sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/e-f\/\">0962<\/a>]<\/sup><i> <\/i>he touched on the destruction of Atlantis. He assumed that Atlantis was situated in the Atlantic just beyond Gibraltar, but that in the beginning, the Atlantic was not connected to the Mediterranean.
