According to Plato [<em>C<\/em><em>ritias<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/critias-text-108c-121c\/\">113d<\/a>] he was the son of <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/poseidon\/\">Poseidon<\/a> and Cleito, and the twin brother of <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/evaemon-euaemon\/\">Evaemon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Atlantisforschung<\/em> noted that the German\u00a0Atlantis researcher\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/borchardt-dr-paul\/\">Paul Borchardt<\/a>, who\u00a0suspected\u00a0Atlantis\u00a0to be in the region of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/tunisia\/\">Tunisia<\/a>, derived the name Ampheres\u00a0from a <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/berbers\/\">Berber<\/a> tribe called &#8220;Am-Phares&#8221;: &#8221;\u00a0<em>They are undoubtedly the Pharusii of Ptolemy (IV, 6, 17) in the Wadi Draa south of the Atlas. Am means people.
