{"id":2379,"date":"2010-05-31T19:01:23","date_gmt":"2010-05-31T19:01:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/arabic-references\/"},"modified":"2025-06-02T09:45:11","modified_gmt":"2025-06-02T08:45:11","slug":"arabic-references","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/arabic-references\/","title":{"rendered":"Arabic References"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A<\/strong><strong>rabic<\/strong><strong> R<\/strong><strong>eferences<\/strong> to Atlantis are discussed by the contemporary Iraqi scholar, Salah Salim Ali, in a twenty- page essay<sup>(a) <\/sup> entitled <em>A<\/em><em>rabic<\/em> <em>R<\/em><em>eferences to <\/em><em>P<\/em><em>lato\u2019s <\/em><em>L<\/em><em>ost <\/em><em>A<\/em><em>tlantis<\/em><sup>[<\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/a\/\"><sup>077<\/sup><\/a><sup>]<\/sup>. He quotes a number of medieval Arabic writers who refer to such places as the \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/city-of-brass\/\">City of Brass\u2019<\/a> and the enigmatic \u2018City of Baht\u2019 (baht = stone of laughter). The city of Brass obviously echoing Plato\u2019s description of the walls of Atlantis being covered with <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/orichalcum\/\">Orichalcum<\/a>.
