Although he clearly stated that he did not accept the reality of Atlantis he was quite happy to use elements of Plato\u2019s tale in his own short stories. Nevertheless, his<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Lovecraft1934.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-21436\" style=\"border: 4px solid black;\" src=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Lovecraft1934.jpg\" alt=\"Lovecraft1934\" width=\"182\" height=\"284\" \/><\/a> friend Robert E. Howard, the creator of<em> Conan the Barbarian<\/em>, appears to have accepted the existence of an early civilisation and to have incorporated that idea into his novel <em>A<\/em><em>tlantis <\/em><em>F<\/em><em>ound.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Some years ago <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/colavito-jason-n\/\">Jason Colavito <\/a>wrote an article<sup>(a)<\/sup> outlining how fictional elements in some of Lovecraft\u2019s books from as early as 1927 appear to have \u2018inspired\u2019 much of <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/daniken-erich-von\/\">von D\u00e4niken\u2019s <\/a>\u2018ancient astronaut\u2019 ideas!
