\"Ashok-Malhotra\"<\/a>Dr. Ashok <\/strong>M<\/strong>alhotra (1950- )<\/strong> is a professor of engineering who has authored a number of books on engineering and education. In addition, he has subscribed to a number of Internet forums outlining his views(a)<\/sup>\u00a0on Atlantis. He contends that the Atlantis tale originated in the Indus Valley<\/a> region with the submergence of the city of Dwarka<\/a>(g)<\/sup><\/span>.\u00a0Subsequently, survivors brought the story to Sumeria<\/a> from where it was eventually\u00a0carried to Egypt<\/a>(h)<\/sup><\/span> and then transmitted to Solon with understandable modifications given its age, distance travelled, and several translations. Incidentally, a wooden block was recovered from the sunken remains of Dwarka<\/a> in 2007 and so a definitive date for its inundation should soon be available.<\/p>\n

Malhotra has given a further exposition of his Atlantis theory in a September 2013 posting on his website(c)<\/sup>.\u00a0<\/span>He offers further theories elsewhere(d)<\/span><\/sup> including a suggestion that the builders of Stonehenge<\/a> came from Armenia(e)<\/span><\/sup>, which ties in with a very ancient megalithic site of Karahunj (See: Sirius<\/a>) <\/b>also known as Zorats Karer in Armenia(f){i)<\/span><\/sup>.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
