He was a Protestant pastor of Nismes, but his learning has been described as \u201cvery inaccurate\u201d. He produced a Latin translation of Plato\u2019s Dialogues in the style of <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/ficino-marsilio\/\">Ficino<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p>In 1578 Serranus was probably the first to suggest that Atlantis was located in what was referred to as the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/holy-land\/\">Holy Land<\/a>, later Palestine and that the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/deluge-of-noah\/\">Flood of Noah<\/a> had destroyed it.<sup>[<\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/s\/\"><sup>1652<\/sup><\/a><sup>]<\/sup><\/p>\r\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&gt;<\/span><\/strong>There is some dispute regarding whether Serranus had specified a location for Atlantis that he favoured. <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/franke-thorwald-c\/\">Thorwald C. Franke<\/a> has suggested that <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/vidal-naquet-pierre\/\">Pierre Vidal-Naquet<\/a> had erroneously implied that Serranus had opted for America or the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/holy-land\/\">Holy Land<\/a> as Atlantis.
