{"id":3106,"date":"2010-06-07T08:20:19","date_gmt":"2010-06-07T08:20:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/devigne-roger\/"},"modified":"2025-06-20T09:09:43","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T08:09:43","slug":"devigne-roger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/devigne-roger\/","title":{"rendered":"D\u00e9vigne, Roger *"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Roger<\/strong> <strong>D<\/strong><strong>\u00e9vigne (1885-1965)<\/strong> was an active French atlantologist in the first half of the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Roger-Devigne.01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-23123\" style=\"border: 4px solid black;\" src=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Roger-Devigne.01.jpg\" alt=\"Roger Devigne.01\" width=\"250\" height=\"187\" \/><\/a>20<sup>th<\/sup> century and in 1926 he was a founder member along with <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/le-cour-paul\/\">Paul Le Cour<\/a> of the <em>Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9tudes atlant\u00e9ens<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/the-society-for-atlantis-studies-revised\/\">Society for Atlantis Studies<\/a>) in Paris. The organisation soon split up leaving the founders to lead two new groups. D\u00e9vigne\u2019s faction favoured a more scientific approach to the subject while Le Cour had a more radical approach.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>D\u00e9vigne published a volume<sup>[<\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/d\/\"><sup>281<\/sup><\/a><sup>]<\/sup> on Atlantis in 1923 that was reprinted in 1931 and later translated into Italian.
