This has been an area of great contention, particularly since the writings of <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/velikovsky-immanuel\/\">Immanuel Velikovsky<\/a> were published in the 1950s. <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/david-rohl\/\">David Rohl<\/a> has published a series of books on the subject in recent years with further contributions from <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/james-peter\/\">Peter James<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/sweeney-emmet-john\/\">Emmet J. Sweeney<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Franklin\u2019s book has chapter 8<sup>(c)<\/sup> devoted to the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/eden-2\/\">Garden of Eden<\/a> and<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Atlantis where he maintains that the 9,000 \u2018years\u2019 of Plato refer to the three \u2018seasons\u2019 in the Egyptian year, an idea that seems to be gaining acceptance (see <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/brychta-radek\/\">Radek Brychta,<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/rosario-vieni\/\">Rosario Vieni<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/hausmann-axel\/\">Axel Hausmann<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>This reassessment of Plato&#8217;s years enabled Franklin to claim that Athens was founded circa 3565 BC and <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/sais-addendum\/\">Sais<\/a> circa 3231 BC. Coincidentally the latter date is very close to the generally accepted time for the establishment of pharaonic Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>Franklin has claimed that the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/phaistos-disk\/\">Phaistos Disk<\/a> is a king-list of Cretan rulers and\u00a0also that it has a calendrical function<sup>(d)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Some years ago, Franklin published a book on the origins of the Tarot deck.
