{"id":3248,"date":"2010-06-07T18:59:19","date_gmt":"2010-06-07T18:59:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/freksa-martin\/"},"modified":"2026-02-08T17:55:29","modified_gmt":"2026-02-08T17:55:29","slug":"freksa-martin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/freksa-martin\/","title":{"rendered":"Freksa, Martin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Martin<\/strong> <strong>F<\/strong><strong>reksa (1945- ) <\/strong>is a German historian and the author of <em>D<\/em><em>as Verlorene <\/em><em>A<\/em><em>tlantis, <\/em>a volume <sup>[<\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/e-f\/\"><sup>303<\/sup><\/a><sup>]<\/sup> that covers familiar ground, but interestingly includes a comparison between characters in the Atlantis story and those of eastern mythologies, for example similarities between Zeus and Krishna. This book has now been translated into English and published under the title of <em>Traces of the Atlantic Civilisation<\/em><sup>[<\/sup><a href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/Tony\/Documents\/Atlantipedia%2023.04.10\/11pt%20Image%20free01.09.10.docx#A691\"><sup>691<\/sup><\/a><sup>]<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Freksa suggests that the apparent references to atomic warfare in the <a title=\"mahabharata\" href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/mahabharata\/\">Mahabharata<\/a> could be an allusion to a war involving Atlantis. He also suggests that this use of atomic weapons caused a rupturing of the earth, which led to the Biblical Deluge and the destruction of Atlantis. He dates this event to 3100 BC.<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0<\/span>The <em>Atlantisforschung.de<\/em> website has published excerpts from Freksa&#8217;s book relating to the war in the Marhabharata<sup>(a)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Freksa also assumes that an earlier world catastrophe, caused by an impact in the western Atlantic, took place about 11,000 years ago. <em>Atlantisforschung<\/em> also includes a review of a book<sup>(b)<\/sup> by Lutz Gentes, who recounts the instances of high technology that existed in ancient India.<\/p>\n<p>Freksa refers to the work of the Austrian writer, <a title=\"blumrich\" href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/blumrich-josef-f\/\">Josef F.
