After the First World War, he wrote a number of adventure novels. In the 1920s, he began his foray into the world of &#8216;alternative archaeology. Later in that decade, he made his first visit to Tiahuanaco.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_27754\" style=\"width: 210px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Kiss-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-27754\" class=\"size-full wp-image-27754\" src=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Kiss-2.jpg\" alt=\"The only known official photo of Kiss\" width=\"200\" height=\"265\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-27754\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The only known official photo of Kiss<\/p><\/div>\n<p>During this period Kiss worked with <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/posnansky-arthur\/\">Arthur Posnansky <\/a>and advanced the idea that <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/tiwanaku-tiahuanaco\/\">Tiahuanaco<\/a> had been built by Nordic refugees from Atlantis (Thule) more than 17,000 years ago. Their work included a search for evidence to support the theories of <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/hoerbiger-hans\/\">Hanns H\u00f6rbiger<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Gildner, a professor of Latin American history, has written an interesting essay on the background to Kiss&#8217; theories and work in Bolivia<sup>(b)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>During the Third Reich, Kiss was requested by Heinrich Himmler to take a team of researchers from the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/ahnenerbe-ss\/\">Ahnenerbe<\/a> to continue his studies at Tiahuanaco, but the expedition was called off. Following that he briefly joined the Waffen SS.
