Desmond, who clearly did not believe in Atlantis, described Plato\u2019s story as the earliest work of science fiction. He had great difficulty with <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/orichalcum\/\">Orichalcum<\/a>, which he considered to be a completely imaginary metal and was of the opinion that Plato erroneously added a zero to the original dates given to <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/solon\/\">Solon<\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In May 2014, <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/franke-thorwald-c\/\">Thorwald C. Franke<\/a> published his investigation into the fact that an appendix to Lee\u2019s 1971 translation of <em>Timaeus<\/em> and <em>Critias, <\/em>concerning Atlantis<em>,<\/em> was removed from the 2008 edition.
