{"id":3800,"date":"2010-06-10T14:27:16","date_gmt":"2010-06-10T14:27:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/?p=3800"},"modified":"2025-07-11T07:56:37","modified_gmt":"2025-07-11T06:56:37","slug":"quinn-bob","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/quinn-bob\/","title":{"rendered":"Quinn, Bob *"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Bob<\/strong><strong> Q<\/strong><strong>uinn<\/strong> <strong>(1935 &#8211; )<\/strong> is an Irish filmmaker who was born in Dublin but now lives in Connemara in the west of Ireland. <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/quinnbob.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-27775\" src=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/quinnbob-300x290.jpg\" alt=\"quinnbob\" width=\"300\" height=\"290\" \/><\/a>Although he does not concern himself with demonstrating the reality of Plato\u2019s Atlantis, he published a book <sup>[<\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/n-r\/\"><sup>534<\/sup><\/a><sup>]<\/sup> based on his four TV documentaries<sup>(<\/sup><sup>a<\/sup><sup>)<\/sup>, which outline a wide range of ancient cultural connections between <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/ireland\/\">Ireland<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/north-africa\/\">North Africa<\/a>, as well as other regions. The book and DVDs are a valuable source for those that see Atlantis as an echo of a prehistoric cultural \u2018empire\u2019 stretching along the North African coast and up the western seaboard of Europe. This would broadly coincide with those regions that are richest in megalithic remains.<\/p>\n<p>The possibility of a North African link with Ireland would appear to be reinforced by a number of 19th-century reports of the Irish language being understood by visitors from North Africa<sup>(d<\/sup><sup>)<\/sup>.
