Unfortunately, most of these proposed locations are above water, which immediately conflicts with Plato\u2019s account of its demise through inundation. The description given by Plato relates to the principal island of the Atlantean \u2018confederation\u2019 and its capital city.<\/p>\n<p>In a nutshell, Plato describes this island as having an imposing mountain range to the north and an extensive well-irrigated plain in the south, facing the sea,\u00a0where the city was built with a central <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/acropolis\/\">acropolis<\/a>.
