We have encountered S\u00e9guin in Atlantipedia in relation to a number of subjects. Some of his ideas are, in my opinion, simply daft. For example, he suggests that megalithic dolmens and menhirs can generate <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/vrilology-n\/\">vril<\/a> energy, which can be used to expedite the maturing of wine<sup>(b)<\/sup>!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The most exotic suggestion regarding the Etruscans comes from S\u00e9guin, who has claimed that they share a common ancestry with the Yoruba of West Africa, as both originated in Atlantis<sup>(c)<\/sup>, a concept &#8216;borrowed&#8217; from <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/frobenius-leo\/\">Leo Frobenius<\/a>. He also offered a most extreme theory regarding the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/olmecs\/\">Olmecs<\/a> with the claim that they were astronauts. This idea was expressed<sup>(d)<\/sup> by S\u00e9guin, quoting US astronaut Gordon Cooper <sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/main-bibliography\/c\/\">1757<\/a>]<\/sup>!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\">\r\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/xavier-seguin.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-49050\" src=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/xavier-seguin.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"477\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/xavier-seguin.jpg 688w, https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/xavier-seguin-300x180.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 477px) 100vw, 477px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>However, I considered S\u00e9guin to be totally unreliable when I found that he also quoted a fictional character, Professor Mortimer, from a work by the renowned writer, Edgar P. Jacobs, as supposedly uttered by a real scientist<sup>(e)<\/sup>, in relation to the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/pillars-of-herakles-revised\/\">Pillars of Heracles.<\/a><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>He denies that Atlantis was situated on the floor of the Atlantic, instead he proposes that Atlantis, <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/punt-n\/\">Punt<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/mu\/\">Mu<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/hyperboreans\/\">Hyperborea<\/a> had all been satellites<sup>(f)<\/sup>!
