He gained international recognition for his ABORA reed boat expeditions<sup>(a)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, he also received unwanted international attention when he and his associate, Dr Stefan Erdmann, were accused of damaging and removing artifacts from the Pyramid of Cheops<sup>(b)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>His interest in pyramids led him to study the pyramidal structures on the island of Pico in the <a href=\"#Azores\">Azores<\/a>, following which. in 2014, Dominique G\u00f6rlitz gave a lecture on the Pico pyramids<sup>(f)<\/sup>. Related to this, is an article on the <em>Atlantisforschung<\/em> website regarding the debate between Nuno Ribeiro and Portuguese archaeologists regarding the authenticity of the structures as pyramids<sup>(g)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 2013, G\u00f6rlitz published a report of his investigation of the Bosnian pyramids in which he concluded <em>&#8220;that at least the Great Pyramid of the Sun and the lesser Pyramid of the Moon are not the archaeological remains of an unknown civilization.&#8221;<\/em><sup>(e)<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dr G\u00f6rlitz has also studied the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/14862\/\">cart ruts<\/a> found in <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantipedia.ie\/samples\/sardinia-amended\/\">Sardinia<\/a><sup>(c)<\/sup>.
