He was a renowned Greek scholar with a special interest in the works of Plato and was a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge (1873-1910).<\/p>\n<p>In 1888, he brought out <em>his magnum<\/em> opus, an original and complete edition of the difficult, important, and neglected &#8216;<em>Tim\u00e6u<\/em>s,&#8217; which gave a new impetus to Platonic studies.
