Sylvain<\/strong> T<\/strong>ristan <\/strong>is a young French researcher who has adopted the theories of Jean Deruelle<\/a>, who advocated the idea that the \"sylvain<\/a>Atlanteans were in fact the Megalith Builders <\/a>of the Bronze Age who left us a legacy of remarkable structures from Scandinavia, along the Atlantic seaboard including the British Isles and on down into the Mediterranean as far as Malta<\/a>. Tristan also subscribes to Deruelle\u2019s contention that the capital of this civilisation had been located on the Dogger Bank <\/a>in the North Sea, between England and Denmark.<\/p>\n

A second major influence on Tristan\u2019s thinking was the writings of Alan Butler<\/a>, who among other matters, has argued[623<\/a>]<\/sup> for the use of 366-degree geometry by the Megalith Builders. Butler wrote the Foreword to Tristan\u2019s Les Lignes d\u2019or, <\/em>it can be read on Tristan\u2019s English language website(b)<\/sup>, while the French text of the book is available online(e)<\/span><\/sup>.<\/p>\n

Tristan returned to the subject of 366-degree geometry in his latest book, Numbers of the Gods<\/em>[<\/sup>1399<\/sup><\/a>]<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

Tristan has expanded on the work of his mentors in two books[624<\/a>][625<\/a>]<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

An interview with Tristan can be accessed on the Internet(a)<\/sup>. Unfortunately, his non-fiction output has only been published in French so far, but in 2012 he published, The Divine Number,<\/em> in English, as a Kindle book(c)<\/sup>. This novel is based on a series of secrets associated with the 366-degree geometry of Butler\u2019s research. He introduces the book in a short YouTube clip(d)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

Tristan’s idea of a megalithic Atlantis has been heavily criticised by Alain Moreau(f)<\/span><\/sup>.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Tristan ventured into even more controversial territory with the publication of the fully illustrated Re-Dating Ancient Greece 500 BC=1300 AD<\/em> [2093<\/a>]<\/sup>. <\/em>The title clearly suggests that a radical redating of accepted ancient chronologies is needed. The book asks many fundamental questions\u00a0 – “Was Homer truly a member of the Saint Omer clan\u2014Frankish knights who invaded Greece in the 13th century? Was the Parthenon built as late as the 14th century AD? And was Plato truly Pletho, a 15th-century philosopher?”<\/em> (g)<\/sup>. Tristan’s suggestions are comparable with the contentious theories of Gunnar Heinsohn (1943-2023)(h)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n
