Björkman, Edwin (L)

Edwin Björkman, (1866-1951) was a Swedish-American literary critic, newspaperman, translator and author. Among his works was a short volume[181] on Atlantis in the late 1920’s. The sub-title of Björkman’s book is Excursions by a Layman among Old Legends and New Discoveries, which describes his researches into classical literature and what was then ‘modern’ archaeology.

He has written a cogent argument in favour of identifying Tartessos (the biblical Tarshish) in Spain with Plato’s Atlantis, as well as with Homer’s Scheria.
