Atlantean Research Society
The Atlantean Research Society was founded in 1906 in Seattle, Washington by Dr. Alexander Strath-Gordon. He served in France as a medical officer in the British army during the First World War after which he returned to America as an intelligence officer (spy?). In 1928 he established the eastern division of the Atlantis Research Society in East Orange, New Jersey. Its president was the British consul-general, Sir James Robinson and James Churchward of Mu fame its vice-president.
