Marks, Andrzej (L)
Andrzej Marks (1932-2006) was a respected Polish astronomer who wrote 32 books over a forty year period. He had a particular interest in space travel and lunar studies but ventured further afield in 1986 when he published a volume on Atlantis, Atlantyda: Fantazja czy rzeczywisto??? (Atlantis: Fantasy or Reality?) Marks reviews the various location theories as well as sceptical opinions. He places the demise of Atlantis around 10,000 BC when the ocean levels rose around 100 metres as the last Ice Age came to an end.
