Jacinto Verdaguer (1845-1902) was a Catalan priest and a poet who wrote his epic L’atlantida (Atlantis) in 1877, in which he located Atlantis in Catalonia. It was translated into all the principal Western European languages. Some commentators have seen the name of region (C)atalan itself containing an ancient memory of this.
