Blotius, Hugo

Hugo Blotius (1533-1608) was a Dutch scholar who was appointed by the Holy Roman Emperor, Maximilian II, as the first head librarian of the Imperial Library, now the Austrian National Library. Thorwald C. Franke notes[1255.273] that according to Peter Albinus, Blotius favoured America as Plato’s Atlantis.
