Cogan, John

John Cogan is an American jet pilot, lawyer and paleohistorian, who has spent 30 years gathering the material for his The New Order of Man’s History[729]. In which he claims that Atlantis was destroyed as a result of an impact by a gigantic 6.5 mile wide asteroid with the earth. He further claims that the encounter caused the rapid melting of polar ice with consequent flooding around the globe.

Cogan generally follows the views of Otto Muck dating this encounter to 8500 BC and considers the Azores as the most likely location of Plato’s island.
