Flooded Kingdoms (L)

Flooded Kingdoms are reputed to be located at many sites around the world. There are myths and legends from many cultures that unequivocally attest to their existence in ancient times. It was inevitable that following the melting of the glaciers at the end of the last Ice Age, large areas of land previously exposed due to the lower sea levels would have been flooded. These inundations occurred in three main regions, namely the Atlantic, the Mediterranean and the South China Sea where there were continental shelves that are now in relatively shallow waters. These are the regions where the stories of ancient submerged cities are most frequently encountered. Graham Hancock has developed this vast subject in one of his weighty books[274].
