Iamblichus
Iamblichus (circa 250-325 AD) was born in ancient Chalcis in what is modern Syria, although Anjar in Lebanon is also a claimant. He was a noted Neo-Platonist who supported the view that Plato’s Atlantis story was a mixture of historical fact and creative elaboration.
