Magic Mushrooms and Atlantis

Magic Mushrooms and Atlantis is the unlikely subject of one dedicated website(a). John Allegro raised hackles in 1970 when he published The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross, in which he claimed that Christianity had been derived from a sex and mushroom cult.  Although I would be highly sceptical of both suggestions, there is little doubt that psychoactive plants have been used from prehistoric times(b).
