Church of Atlantis

The Church of Atlantis according to its rather flimsy website (now closed down) claimed to be a non-sectarian spiritual movement, founded on the belief that the American continent is Atlantis. I wonder what Plato would have made of it.

In South Africa, there is an institution(a) called the Atlantis Church of Christ, which is not linked to Plato’s story but is named after the district in which it is situated.

In Brownsville, Texas, there is the Church of the Divine Spirit/Atlantis Books(b), which among its services offers a ‘Lemurian Crystal Light spa’. This blending of Christianity and New Age drivel seems to be gaining ground.
