Verdaguer, Jacint

Jacint Verdaguer (1845-1902) was a Catalan priest and a poet who wrote his epic L’atlantida (Atlantis) in 1877, in which he located Atlantis in the Atlantic, with the Canaries as its remnants. It won a competition enhancing Verdaguer’s reputation and was translated into all the principal Western European languages.
