Atlantean Research Society
The Atlantean Research Society was founded in 1906 in Seattle, Washington, by Dr. Alexander Strath-Gordon. He served in France as a medical officer in the British army during the First World War, after which he returned to America as an intelligence officer (spy?). In 1928, it seems that he established an eastern branch in East Orange, New Jersey, which was referred to by Egerton Sykes as the Atlantis Research Centre, but this could be a naming mistake. Its president was the British consul-general, Sir James Robinson and James Churchward of Mu fame, its vice-president.
