Cordiero coverAntónio Cordyero (1641-1722) was a Jesuit priest who wrote an important account of the history and prehistory of the Portuguese islands in the Atlantic as well as a discussion of the suggestion that they included Plato’s Atlantis, published in 1717 as Historia Insulana das Ilhas a Portugal Sugeytas no Oeano Occidental[1294]
