Godefroy de Roisel is the author of a substantial, 568 page, 19th century book[651], in French, on the Atlanteans, which can now be read online(a). Roisel saw Atlantis as a culturally advanced civilisation that gradually faded away leaving traces, in the form architectural monuments, in locations from Egypt to the Americas.
