Lake Agassiz

Lake Agassiz was a very large glacial lake in North America which discharged into the Atlantic Ocean just as Lake Missoula, further west, emptied into the Pacific.

>A few years ago studies of the effects of the Agassiz discharges found a corelation between the Canadian flood and the sudden development of European farming(a). Chris Turney of the University of Exeter has linked this event with the migration of up to 145,000 people from Black Sea farming sites to inland Europe.<
